Renoise 2.6 final is available

Renoise 2.6 has been released to the public.

A detailed explanation of the new features is avaialbe here.

Let me focus on one: scripting.

Since version 2.6, users wil lbe able to create their own extensions to Renoise, similarly to how it happens in successful browsers such as Firefox and Chrome and in many other more professional softwares.

Everyone is invited to join the party of coding new tools for Renoise, or just to be an user of them. Take a look at the Tools page which showcases the tools which have already been created by the community; you will also find all the information needed to start coding your own.

La scuola di musica “La Mela di Odessa”, sita in via Serafino Soldi ad Avellino, presenta una settimana di workshop dedicàti all’insegnamento della musica sotto diverse forme.

Renoise 2.5 demo now available to all users

Renoise, the music software I use to compose music, has reached version 2.5 Release Candidate 1. As usual, RC versions are the first ones which are available to non registered users, id est: to everyone.

So, if you are interested in a radically different way to make music, give Renoise 2.5 a try!

A new version of Renoise, the music composition software I use, has been revealed to the public on December 10th.

Athough only registered users can download it (first public version will be the Release Candidate), a lot of positive feedback has been received, and we all at the developing team have been pleased to see how much attention it got.

Further, for the first time, we revealed a bit about what is coming next: a scripting language, which increased the hype even more.

If you are looking for a different approach to music composition which allows for more precision and versatility, give Renoise a try.

Renoise 2.1 final has just been released. The biggest new feature is Rewire support, both master and slave.

as you can read here, Renoise 2.1 has entered beta phase.

The most exciting new feature in Renoise 2.1 is Rewire support, on Win/Mac side, and JACK Transport support, on Linux side, which will allow Renoise to fully communicate with other applications which adhere to the same standards; Logic, Reaper, Sonar to name a few.

music enthusiast Imbuteria has interviewed me and published the result on various places, for example here. The interview is in italian, although it also quotes a brief introduction in english made by IMISound promotions, but don’t ask me for a translation because I’m lazy :)

Pay attention to what you are signing!

Recently I have been contacted by an italian site looking for some “talents” to scout. Their self-entitled “artist director” has written lots of (generic) kind words about their project on the road to start, then he invited me to join it.

I was already suspicious when I entered the site, but when I read the contract agreement, I saw with a great surprise that the text was automatically translated from english to italian, with very funny results..

anyway, the contract stated, in this sort-of-hybrid language, that the contractor was going to authorize the site to publish the songs for any kind of use, and even to sublicense to third parties!

what did they give you in exchange? Promotion, of course! Hah!

when I asked for more infor about this (both the translation and the content of the contract) on their shoutbox, firstly they removed my messages and moderated the shoutbox, then they replied me saying “sorry?! we did not send you any contract..”

well, this is pretty ridicolous, isn’t it?

Always pay attention to what you are signing, at least give a good read at the crucial parts of the agreement!.
